I have been trying to get into pyramids and mah jong, what is up with yahoo games??
it's really very annoying, alot of people i know are having the same trouble so it's not my pc|||They are having problems with the Yahoo Games site. Yahoo knows and is working to fix it. Be patient!|||i miss the mah jong game too.|||Yahoo games server is down. No telling when it'll be back to normal. It seems to go and come, sometimes continuous logging in and out and "click here" if game applet doesn't open results in you making it in. But i think it's the games server for yahoo.

When will yahoo get abra academy and the new mah jong quest2? both good game's?
Abra academy is on bigfishgames.com, at least the downloadable version. And you can buy it for 6.99 if you join the club. Not sure about Mahjong, but have found they have most of the yahoo games I enjoyed there. Just wish I had found it before I spent 19.99 on so many games. How to play mah jong?
Each player is dealt either 13 tiles for 13-tile variations or 16 tiles for 16-tile variations.
A turn involves a player's drawing of a tile from the wall (or draw pile) and then placing it in his hand. The player then discards a tile onto the table. This signals the end of his turn, prompting the player to the right to make his move. As a form of courtesy, each player is encouraged to announce loudly the name of the tile being discarded. Then there are special tiles. Its not just about making matches with all your tiles - players are striving to make "bonus points". I have one of the old American Melamine sets from the twenties with only 152 Tiles. I know I can play the Chinese version, by substitution but I need pointers.|||I play Mahjongg solitaire online all the time, and have made my own tilesets (probably 100+) that I use when I play Mahjong Towers Eternity. They use layouts of up to 720 tiles each (but the sets are only 36 distinct types numbering 4 each, or 144 total) created by players. As you solve each layout, you get so many points and move up by levels (bronze, silver, gold) of each of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs (snake, rat, etc)

Yahoo! used to have a Mah Jong area where you had daily boards to clear. Where is it? What happened?
The program is either corrupt or they took it out because of technical problems. But I'm sure they will put it back again, because Mah Jong is a classic game.

You can only remove matching pairs of tiles, there are 2 exceptions the 4 seasons and 4 major flowers which as such do not match, but again only 2 at a time

there are different rules for different places and its hella complicated. if u want to learn find an old asian person or forget about it. i suggest for you putting the tiles on the floor face up and taking matching pairs off two at a time, but only if one of their sides are exposed|||it is very hard to set up so i say practice online 1st

Why i can't get mah jong solitare?

I need rules for Mah Jong Question III Online Tournament?
I understand the rules of Mah Jong. However, when I play the tournament in iWin.com everybody beats the pants off me. I don't understand what the bonus coins do. I see that sometimes people match up a bonus coin with a random tile. I don't get it. Do some tiles have to add up to a certain number instead of picking the matching tile? For example, tonight I was playing with somebody and they got over 2,500 pts in the first tiles they matched. I don't get it. Where can I find the rules for the tournament version? I have a question about Mah Jong Ancient Tails for PS3 - we purchased the game online from the PS store. It has Ancient Tails (stories), infinity, motion and multi-player. Here is the question. If anyone else has this game... we have played all 5 of the stories. Each story has 9 games or layouts if you will in it. After you play each layout in each story if you click on it again it says "replay" except for game 9 in story 5. Has anyone got past this? Free Mah Jong Quest online vs. buying the full version?
I'm a big MahJong fan and enjoy Mah Jong Quest the most because of the ample time limit, the 'undo' option, legible tiles and the many layouts it says it has.
I've tried Mah Jong Quest on Shockwave and have enjoyed it to a point. Pretty much the same thing over and over, unfortunately. The dynamite and magnets were a thrill at first, but are there any additional surprises in the full version?
Moreover- is the full version worth buying? Any other good Mahjong games I'd be able to try out long enough before buying? Hopefully with the preferences I listed above?

I bought this Mah Jong for this guy that I was dating who was into board games. I don't know anything about Mah Jong, but the game came in this beautiful leather case and the pieces looked really pretty. Well, we broke up before his birthday so he never got this beautiful present (and he lost this beautiful woman as well). The unopened game has been in my closet for a year and a half. How do I install mah jong medley. From gamehouse when it will not download.?
I had thuis installed on my computer . And now I go to gamehouse or real arcade and it comes on but will not download so I can play. It was unlimited play.|||I haven't had the best luck with Gamehouse games, or Mah Jong Medley either! I found a couple that I liked better though, and here are the links. Instead of downloading them, you can open them up in your browser, let them load fully, and you can still play them while you're offline. These are two of the best Majongg games I've found. Wooden Mah Jong Set "Cabinet" that spins?
I received a catalogue in the mail at home about 4 months ago that had a beautiful mahagony table top "cabinet" that spins around specially designed to hold Mah Jong sets. Didn't think I needed it at the time, and now can't find the catalogue, can't remember the name of the catalogue, and have been unable to find anything even close on line. ANY IDEAS?|||go to ebay and search 'Mah Johng Cabinet'. If you don't find it there try Google.

I cant get into lobby of mah jong says attempting to enter but wont go any farther?
after i enter the letters and number ( 4) of them and it tries to take me to lobby java does its thing then it shows the lobby but quickly changes to attempting to enter then i click the three minute click and it will come up and say error in logging in and i don't know what the error is|||its a glitch

What is the best strategy for wining mah jong? Is it best to work from the top down, or outside in? or other?
Mah Jong is a complex game, and you have to develop stategies that work based on the way the tiles are layed out for that specific game. As a GENERAL rule, working from the top down whenever possible will help reveal more tiles for matching, but if you see a good match from the outside in, don't ignore it simply because you cannot remove a higher level piece instead. You may very well reveal pieces you need by working from the outside as well. If you are playing as a solo game, then it doesn't matter how many melds you make to clear the board.
However, if you are playing against other people, you may want to review some other basic strategy guides. I have listed a few very helpful ones below! Good luck..

How do I get back to game, Mah Jong Solitare, if I get disconnected from server? Happens w/ high score/level
It seems that every time I get to level 4 or above and have a high score, I get disconnected from the game server. I cannot get my game back. Why? This is real annoying. In mah jong why do we roll the dice?
What are the dice for, And how may we use them?|||In classic Mah Jongg, the dice are used to determine who plays East Wind and where to break the wall. All of the players roll two dice each. The player who rolled the highest number becomes East Wind for that game.
East Wind then rolls two dice. Beginning with himself, he counts the number of players counterclockwise around the table according to the number rolled on the two dice. So East would be 1, South would be 2, etc. If an 8 is rolled, for example, North Wind would be the player to break his wall. The breaking player then rolls the third die, and counts the number of 2-tile columns from left to right according to the roll of all three dice. That column is the location where the wall is broken. The two tiles at the break point are lifted out of their position and placed to the left of the break on top of the wall for loose tiles.
Then East Wind takes the first two stacks of tiles, South Wind takes the next two stacks, and so on in counterclockwise order until each player has three sets of stacks, or twelve tiles. Beginning with East Wind again, each player then takes one tile, giving each player 13 tiles. East Wind takes his final tile, and the deal is complete. After seasons and flowers are dealt with, East Wind will play first by discarding one of his tiles, leaving him with 13. (East Wind does not draw on his first turn.) Game progresses from there.
It is interesting to note that unlike Bridge, where South sits to the left of East, in Mah Jongg South Wind sits to the right of East Wind. This is because the game represents a celestial view of nature. In essence, when you look at the tabletop in Mah Jongg, you are looking at a representation of the sky, not the ground. - LJS

Has all the info you need it is basically just getting same tiles but also things like seasons flowers and dragons which are good to collect. Its a really good game hope you have fun with it|||hi - I play a lot online so will attempt to give you a rundown of rules! You have to make matching pairs, BUT the tiles you match together have to have at least 1 side 'open', ie not butted up against another tile. Does that make sense?

Has all the info you need it is basically just getting same tiles but also things like seasons flowers and dragons which are good to collect. Its a really good game hope you have fun with it|||hi - I play a lot online so will attempt to give you a rundown of rules! You have to make matching pairs, BUT the tiles you match together have to have at least 1 side 'open', ie not butted up against another tile. Does that make sense?

I was told to try asian decor stores in the area....which has been a wild goose chase. I have searched online and there seems to be an extreme array of prices and sizes as well a quality of tiles. It seems all the new machine manufactured tiles are too small and the hand-carved hand pained tiles come from China with partial addresses and iffy warnings about the vendors. How do you reinstall Mah Jong Quest ll game after having to run the recovery disk?
Is this a game you bought online (I assume so since otherwise you could just install from the CD)? Contact the company you bought it from and ask them for help reinstalling a game you paid for. They should have a record of your purchase and should be able to help you.
If you bought it from Yahoo, you might have to deal with their customer support... I've gone around and around with them in the past so these days I recommend everyone to buy games from sites with better support, like Game Socks or Big Fish Games. They all basically have the same games, anyway.

I played this game all the time as a kid with my parents and would love to play online. I found one game but now my computer gets a virus everytime I go there. In Yahoo Mah Jong solitar, why are the colors so difficult to see?
I have a new computer (laptop), It has a high resolution screen, the settings are correct for all other programs. I think Yahoo needs to work on the tiles in Mah Jong Solitar to widen the lines. I would be willing to assist if someone would allow me to do that.

I bought a real mah-jong set but the directions read like stereo instructions. Please help. |||If you buy an American Mah Jongg set it is easy to figure out. It plays much like a game of cards but you use tiles. Does your set have numbers or just symbols?
