What does Mah Jong in cantonese mean?

is Mah means= pair and Jong = birdies in Cantonese ?|||i think the word is call sparrow.|||"Ma jiang" is actually from Mandarin, but corrupted into "mahjong / mahjongg" due to foreigners saying it incorrectly: "楹诲皢 / 楹诲皣", where 灏?/ 灏?means "General(s) [in the military]".

In Cantonese, it's "Ma jeuk": 楹婚泙, where 闆€ means "sparrow(s)". 闆€ = "que" in Pinyin.
