Is mah jong always solvable?

Is it always possible to solve mah jong games? Or is it possible to have a shuffle that makes it impossible to completely clear the board?|||As stated by someone else, Mah-Jongg is a game similar to Rummy or Canasta. The solitaire game commonly referred to as Mah-Jongg was originally referred to as, "The Turtle," because the official layout resembled a turtle...vaguely. As far as I know, it is possible to have layouts that are not solvable, though I don't know that for an absolute fact.|||NO.|||what do you mean solvable? mah jong is an ancient chinese game. that are blocks with figures on them. if the pieces are mixed properly usually noone wins, but like most games there usually is a winner.|||it all depends on your strategy and your observance of the tiles.|||You are confused.

There is a kid's game where you take Mah jongg tiles and stack them up in interesting patterns and then look for matches Most of the time you can clear all the pieces off the board by removing every pair that you find matches.

However, that is NOT the game of Mah Jongg, which is played with four players and is more like a complicated card game.
