I need rules for Mah Jong Question III Online Tournament?

I understand the rules of Mah Jong. However, when I play the tournament in iWin.com everybody beats the pants off me. I don't understand what the bonus coins do. I see that sometimes people match up a bonus coin with a random tile. I don't get it. Do some tiles have to add up to a certain number instead of picking the matching tile? For example, tonight I was playing with somebody and they got over 2,500 pts in the first tiles they matched. I don't get it. Where can I find the rules for the tournament version? Question about Mah Jong for PS3?

I have a question about Mah Jong Ancient Tails for PS3 - we purchased the game online from the PS store. It has Ancient Tails (stories), infinity, motion and multi-player. Here is the question. If anyone else has this game... we have played all 5 of the stories. Each story has 9 games or layouts if you will in it. After you play each layout in each story if you click on it again it says "replay" except for game 9 in story 5. Has anyone got past this? Free Mah Jong Quest online vs. buying the full version?

I'm a big MahJong fan and enjoy Mah Jong Quest the most because of the ample time limit, the 'undo' option, legible tiles and the many layouts it says it has.





I've tried Mah Jong Quest on Shockwave and have enjoyed it to a point. Pretty much the same thing over and over, unfortunately. The dynamite and magnets were a thrill at first, but are there any additional surprises in the full version?





Moreover- is the full version worth buying? Any other good Mahjong games I'd be able to try out long enough before buying? Hopefully with the preferences I listed above?

Is Mah Jong a fun game?

I bought this Mah Jong for this guy that I was dating who was into board games. I don't know anything about Mah Jong, but the game came in this beautiful leather case and the pieces looked really pretty. Well, we broke up before his birthday so he never got this beautiful present (and he lost this beautiful woman as well). The unopened game has been in my closet for a year and a half. I was thinking it could be a nice present for someone else, but it feels weird giving it so someone when it was not intended for that particular person. I had thuis installed on my computer . And now I go to gamehouse or real arcade and it comes on but will not download so I can play. It was unlimited play.|||I haven't had the best luck with Gamehouse games, or Mah Jong Medley either! I found a couple that I liked better though, and here are the links. I received a catalogue in the mail at home about 4 months ago that had a beautiful mahagony table top "cabinet" that spins around specially designed to hold Mah Jong sets. I am trying to locate a good public local for a mahjongg tourney. We set a $3 purse and a $10 purse.... so churches are out. What is the best strategy for wining mah jong? Is it best to work from the top down, or outside in? or other?

Mah Jong is a complex game, and you have to develop stategies that work based on the way the tiles are layed out for that specific game. As a GENERAL rule, working from the top down whenever possible will help reveal more tiles for matching, but if you see a good match from the outside in, don't ignore it simply because you cannot remove a higher level piece instead. You may very well reveal pieces you need by working from the outside as well. If you are playing as a solo game, then it doesn't matter how many melds you make to clear the board.





However, if you are playing against other people, you may want to review some other basic strategy guides. I have listed a few very helpful ones below! Good luck..

What are the dice for, And how may we use them?|||In classic Mah Jongg, the dice are used to determine who plays East Wind and where to break the wall. All of the players roll two dice each. The player who rolled the highest number becomes East Wind for that game.





East Wind then rolls two dice. Beginning with himself, he counts the number of players counterclockwise around the table according to the number rolled on the two dice. So East would be 1, South would be 2, etc. If an 8 is rolled, for example, North Wind would be the player to break his wall. The breaking player then rolls the third die, and counts the number of 2-tile columns from left to right according to the roll of all three dice. That column is the location where the wall is broken. The two tiles at the break point are lifted out of their position and placed to the left of the break on top of the wall for loose tiles.





Then East Wind takes the first two stacks of tiles, South Wind takes the next two stacks, and so on in counterclockwise order until each player has three sets of stacks, or twelve tiles. Beginning with East Wind again, each player then takes one tile, giving each player 13 tiles. East Wind takes his final tile, and the deal is complete. After seasons and flowers are dealt with, East Wind will play first by discarding one of his tiles, leaving him with 13. (East Wind does not draw on his first turn.) Game progresses from there.





It is interesting to note that unlike Bridge, where South sits to the left of East, in Mah Jongg South Wind sits to the right of East Wind. Has all the info you need it is basically just getting same tiles but also things like seasons flowers and dragons which are good to collect. Its a really good game hope you have fun with it|||hi - I play a lot online so will attempt to give you a rundown of rules! |||Well Chinese sets don't have numbers in the corners. They already have numbers in chinese on them, the ones with the numbers in the corners are the american sets.

How do you play Mah Jong?

My friend who is chinese and said this is a great game.|||Mah Jong is in fact an awesome game. For an American it is a cross between Memory, Go Fish and Dominoes.





All the tile pieces are stacked (unlimited varieties and shapes - another reason it is awesome) face up. Each player is given a certain number of tiles to start. You can look at these pieces and try to find a match on the board. You can only make a match on your turn. The tile you are matching must be open on at least one of four sides! You cannot pick a tile in the middle of the line but start from each end of the line and move in towards the middle. Once you have made a match you can take your tiles and put them to the side.





The player with the most tiles wins. They often gamble with this game but I never have.

How do you reinstall Mah Jong Quest ll game after having to run the recovery disk?

Is this a game you bought online (I assume so since otherwise you could just install from the CD)? Contact the company you bought it from and ask them for help reinstalling a game you paid for. They should have a record of your purchase and should be able to help you.





If you bought it from Yahoo, you might have to deal with their customer support... I've gone around and around with them in the past so these days I recommend everyone to buy games from sites with better support, like Game Socks or Big Fish Games. They all basically have the same games, anyway.

Thanks!|||I would buy from a local store, most toy places would sell a Chinese Mah Jong set and that has everything you would need to play Japanese Mah Jong (Riichi/ Reach Mah Jong). There are no differences between the tiles except the Chinese set has more tiles you just remove during a Japanese game, you will also have a Chinese set if you every want to play that version.





Most board game shows have a set and even some more old fashion toy stores sell them as well.

You won't be able to play "American" rules because that set does not have the jokers. (which makes the tile count 152). Don't worry, there are plenty of versions that are played without jokers. (We play HKOS).|||There are quite a few books you can buy on Amazon that tell the rules of Mahjong. However, think of Mah Jong as a Deck of Cards, rather than a hard and fast game. There are many different games and variations that can be played, and some may require more dice.





However, I used to sell MahJong and the number of dice even in new copies varies - from 0 - 4, so 3 is a pretty good hit rate.

Some people will imply that all online Mah Jong is solitaire, but that's not true. Yahoo! have a pretty good online four-player version of the game which seems to run pretty much the way I have learned how to play it (It's worth pointing out that I learned to play in China, with Chinese players).





There is a pretty good online version at QQ, but that's all in traditional chinese, so probably unlikely that you could play.





There are variations though, some sets have different numbers of pieces, especially from different western manufacturers.





By the sounds of it you have been playing one of the solitaire games, and there's nothing stopping you continuing to do so.





However, the regular (well, popular) game of Mah Jongg is usually played with four players, sat around four rows of pieces stacked double high in a square configuration.
